Leigh Hurst holds an Associate's Degree in Psychology and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a minor in Gerontology. She is currently on a sabbatical from working on her Master's Degree in Gerontology.

She also teaches students from Universities about Gerontology in person and via Skype.

When she started her business Awake & Aging, it was to teach people about conscious aging. After rebranding the business to Purposeful Living Healing Center, it focuses on conscious aging, enlightenment, holistic healing, sound healing and energy work.
